Sesame Workshop Extends and Expands Its Media Asset Management Technology
with Venaca S-3 Single Source Solution

New York, N.Y. - February 11, 2002 -- Venaca, a leader in creating Broadcast Quality Archives and Media Asset Management Solutions and Sesame Workshop, the global pioneer in educating and entertaining children through multiple media, have signed an extension to provide additional enhanced Media Asset Management resources for the entire Sesame Workshop portfolio of programs.

"We've been in the asset management business for 30 years now," said Rob Schuman, director of technical operations for Sesame Workshop. Sesame Street was considered revolutionary when it first started in 1969 because the show repeated short segments in various combinations. When you're going to do that, you have to develop an efficient tracking system. Eventually that system became a sophisticated database of information. Now, with our digital library of broadcast-quality video, a member of the workshop staff can say, "I need a segment on the letter B, and I need it to be two minutes long and include Big Bird," and use simple queries to find every incidence of it."

Venaca initially integrated its Media Asset Management technology into the Workshops digital archive last year. The Venaca S3 system integrates content management and distribution applications to allow networked users to store, search, retrieve, view, edit and distribute broadcast - quality audio and video from a PC desktop.

Under the extension agreement, Venaca will provide the Workshop with numerous enhancements and upgrades such as the integration of editing systems, the automation of their tape duplication facility, the ability to create any digital format from their assets and development of a web based asset management portal.
