This integrated media asset management storage solution delivers unprecedented speed, performance and reliability for managing Turner's rapidly growing rich media content. MIR is a state-of-the-art facility designed to model, test and showcase Turner's most advanced media solutions and prepare for deployment in live production and broadcast environments. This innovative lab will be instrumental for Turner to continue implementing cutting-edge technology seamlessly and cost effectively. Venaca's S3 software manages content with a full suite of features including the ability to ingest, store, search, preview, retrieve, edit, transcode and distribute media assets. Venaca optimized its native hierarchical storage management (HSM) capability with integration to EMC Avalon's Intelligent Data Management software to maximize performance in this extremely demanding environment. The S3 system, capable of handling broadcast quality media formats such as HD and MPEG2, is stored on EMC CLARiiON® networked storage systems and managed by EMC Navisphere™ and EMC PowerPath™ software.
