WFUV CELEBRATES ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF "SHOWS ON DEMAND" WITH DIGITAL ARCHIVES FROM VENACA

WFUV.org Provides Listeners Access To Over 20 Programs and 1,500 Hours Of Shows

New York, NY, October 26, 2002 - WFUV 90.7 FM, Public Radio from Fordham University in New York City, is celebrating the 1 year anniversary of providing their listeners with "Shows On Demand" via a digital archive system provided by VENACA.

The digital archive enables WFUV to provide online listeners with enhanced options to choose from past programming. The archive currently houses over 20 programs, which translates to over 1,500 hours of programming. Programs range from Special Appearances and Concerts (Guest DJ Elvis Costello, Concert for Bangladesh) to a weekly lecture series. Messages from the University's President are also archived on a weekly basis. The archives can be accessed by going to www.wfuv.org and clicking on WFUV Archives.

The archive was implemented in response to listeners requests as well as to solve a number of items: increase listener enjoyment, provide another tool for new membership acquisition, and catalog and digitally preserve WFUV's programming content. "During a recent fundraising drive in which we highlighted the digital archive feature, WFUV saw a jump in membership," stated WFUV General Manager Dr. Ralph Jennings. WFUV's Web Director Laura Fedele added "The VENACA solution has enabled our radio station, which has a small staff and limited resources, to build listener loyalty via the archives, while taking up little staff time to produce the archive." VENACA's application is available both on an enterprise basis and as a fully secured outsourced solution, which can provide companies of any size the benefits of media asset management.
